Glam rock un glam metale ortam hazirlamasi onemlidir, ayrica David Bowie`nin saglam sarkilari ya da Velvet G. gibi saglam bir kac film de oradan turemistir.
Fakat bir de glam metal vardir ki muzik tarihine damgasini vurmustur.
Kadin giysileri giymeleri [her grup degil ama Kiss, Twisted sister ya da Posion] toplumsal cinsiyete karsi cok onemli bir karsi cikistir, ayrica sarkilarinda gencler ve hayaller uzerine kurulmus baskilardan da sik sik bahsederler [skid row ve twisted sister] ya da sadece inanilmaz eglenceli sarkilar yazarlar [poison, danger danger vs...]
Her kosulda 80 lerde ortaya cikmis olan en guclu akimdir, heavy metalin ilk dalgasindan sonra Twisted kadar buyuk bir grup ortaya cikmamistir, avrulpanin en buyuk muzik festivallerinde slayer, manowar gibi gruplarin ustunde hala headline olmalari da bunun bir sonucudur.

fakat bir de glam metal hadisesi vardır ki uzak durulması gerekir zira 80'lere dair hatırlanmak istenmeyen tüm şarkılar bu kategoriden çıkmadır.
