Squirrel Nut Zippers is a U.S. band formed in 1993 as a tongue-in-cheek salute to 1920s and 1930s big band music. While the band was lumped together with other acts such as Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Cherry Poppin' Daddies as part of the swing revival in the mid-90's, Squirrel Nut Zippers veered more towards hot jazz than swing, although they proved to be incredibly diverse, playing everything from blues to calypso music.
